MILWAUKEE – The Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce celebrated its one-year anniversary today by announcing its 100th member of the Chamber – MillerCoors, who is joining as a platinum founding member.
“We are extremely excited to celebrate our one-year anniversary with the addition of MillerCoors as our 100th member,” said Jason Rae, executive director of the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce. “It’s special to reach the 100 members within a year, and it is even more meaningful to do it with a legendary Wisconsin company like MillerCoors.”
“MillerCoors is committed to equality in the workplace and to helping build a more diverse business community,” said Douglas Sanborn, MillerCoors Manager of Community Commerce and Partnerships. “We believe equality and fairness are Wisconsin values, and we are excited to join a growing organization that promotes these values statewide. MillerCoors is proud to be a platinum member of the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce.”
The membership of MillerCoors and one-year anniversary highlight the Chamber’s rapid growth across the state. In addition to building a strong and diverse membership, the Chamber has been active statewide, hosting more than twenty events in seven different communities, including Milwaukee, Green Bay, Madison, La Crosse, Racine, Appleton, and Stevens Point, all within the last twelve months. The Chamber was also invited to participate in two different White House briefings within the past year.
“Reaching 100 members within our first year exceeded our expectations, but it shows that Wisconsin employers and businesses are committed to creating a fully inclusive state for the LGBT community,” said Rae. “We look forward to continuing our efforts to grow our membership and promote economic growth opportunities among LGBT owned and allied businesses, professionals, and corporations in Wisconsin for many years to come.”
The Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce is an organization of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and LGBT-allied businesses, corporations and professionals throughout the state of Wisconsin. It offers networking opportunities, business development efforts within the LGBT community and educational programming to its members.
